Spring is here, and many people consider
moving this time of year. There are many things to consider
before putting your home on the market. Preparing your home
to sell is the first concern. What needs to be done to
maximize your current investment and to sell it fast?
Declutter your whole home, inside and out. People are looking for spacious
areas in which to live. Replace light fixtures to make your home shine. Paint
where it is needed – a fresh coat of paint can go a long way. Clean carpets, get
rid of old, worn furniture and, if necessary, find some good used furniture and
invest in slipcovers. What can cost you very little to improve the looks of your
home will benefit you in the long run.
Staging your home for sale is very important in today’s aggressive market. Get
rid of the things you are never going to use. It may be a great time to have a
garage sale or visit Goodwill. You might even look at renting a storage unit to
give you space while you are preparing to sell.
Don’t forget curb appeal. This is probably the most important aspect to consider
when preparing to sell. If your home is not inviting on the outside, how are you
going to get prospective buyers inside? Repaint the front door, pressure wash,
clean the yard, plant some flowers, and freshen up all the landscaping.
There are so many things to take care of when selling and then moving into a
new home. A REALTOR
can help you reach your goal.
