I have lived in Tallahassee for 26 years now, during that time I have seen a great many changes in our city and surrounding areas. When I moved here in 1984 I could not believe all the great places there was to visit and things to do in our surrounding area.
Some of the ones that I enjoyed were Wakulla Springs, with the crystal clear water for swimming, and the fact that some of the first Tarzan films were made there made it even more interesting. St. George Island made me fall in love with the beach. Maclay Gardens has some of the most pristine foliage and tranquil settings. Lake Ella is a beautiful area that people enjoy for walking or having a picnic. Our canopy roads here in Tallahassee take your breath away, hard to believe that they once were dirt roads that were traveled by horse and buggy.
