You and I know that buying a home today can be a very good deal. But maybe your customers are not so convinced? I imagine that most clients today need to be re-assured that they are making a smart purchase decision. Here are some details that might help you have better conversations with your customers.
-Yes, housing prices have declined, dramatically in some areas. But, going forward it is unlikely that housing prices will dramatically drop again. Most economists and surveys expect housing prices to continue to stabilize, although there might be small declines still in some areas. This means buyers can purchase with more confidence at today’s prices.
-Mortgage rates are at a historical low point. Some loans with 30 year fixed interest rates are as low as 3.750%. This is providing very affordable payments for buyers.
In the future, it is likely that qualifying for a loan will get more difficult. This is due to future transitions of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and changes in government regulation. So, for some buyers, maybe action today is better than waiting to buy later.
As a buyer, you have more housing inventory to choose from, and are competing with fewer other buyers in the market place.
