This river is a mouth full, Withlacoochee. Left early Saturday morning to venture out on another water way that we had not been on before.
We deicided to go to Blue Springs State Park out side of Madison.
A fresh under water spring to snorkel in when we were done.
It is very fun to see what is just down the road from Tallahassee. It took approx 1 hour to get there with a stop included and the weather was fantastic to be out on the river in the kayaks.
This trip we decided to go up stream and then on our next visit we will go down stream and that eventually leads into the Swanee River.
The sites are unbelievable, many different things to look at and all we saw the whole day was 2 guys fishing when we first got on the river.
There were a couple of areas where we had to get out and pull the kayaks thru the rocks as the water was very low in some areas. Talk about a great area for taking photos. There were also some things in the trees that obviously were remnants from previous storms.
Needless to say this river is one of our favorite and we will be back.
When we got back to the park we grabbed the snorkel gear and did some exploring into the spring. The water is so clear that you can see everything down below.
I will say that if you venture out to explore North Florida or South Georgia the State Parks are the best places to start.
Until another weekend on the river enjoy the photo galley attached.
