Legislative Days.
This coming Tuesday and Wednesday is Florida Realtors legislative days. This is when over 1000 realtors from across the state travel to Tallahassee to deal with legislative issues that we are facing for the year ahead and how the results can affect all of us in the future.
Some of the issues ahead are Mortgage Interest Deduction. If this passes it could mean the interest that you are now deducting from your primary residence can go away. This would impact us all in a very negative manner. We rely on this interest as a tax deduction that is one of the only that can be used.
The Sedousky fund that has not been used to assist in housing purchases and now the government wants to sweep those funds into the general pool and do away with any financial assistance to first time buyers for future use.
There are many other issues that face us as realtors and the general public that your state representatives and members will do their best in the week ahead to do what is best for all.
