Moving can be a stressful experience even under the best of circumstances for humans and pets. With so much activity occurring on moving day, pets can become very anxious. Pets watching all their family’s belongings being moved out of the home by strangers can cause a pet to become protective and aggressive. You certainly do not want to add to the stress of moving day by adding a dog bite to the mix.
All of us pet lovers know how frequently our precious pets run between our feet. Too often, movers encounter pets running between their feet. Roaming pets can create an unexpected, hazardous environment for the movers by tripping them while the movers are carrying large, heavy items which can cause injury to both the individual and pet.
Keep in mind, while the moving van is being loaded, the front door will remain open where animals can get out. The last thing anyone needs on moving day is a pet that runs away because the door was left open.
To avoid adding chaos to moving day, please secure your pet by crating them or removing them from the home.
