On the National Real Estate scene, — Good News! Contracts to buy US homes rose for 1st time in 9 months in March 2014, pointing to higher sales!!
More Americans signed contracts to buy homes in March, the first good increase since June and a sign that the housing market might pick up after a sluggish start to the year.
The National Association of Realtors said Monday that its seasonally adjusted pending home sales index rose 3.4 percent to 97.4 last month.
Pending sales are a barometer of future purchases: A one- to two-month lag usually exists between a signed contract and a completed sale. So the rise in pending sales means that home sales could rebound during the spring buying season.
Locally, The Tallahassee MSA enjoys continued real estate market recovery and we continue to have a healthy Real Estate Market with our foundation of Government & University Employment bases.
Also good news the number of Short Sales has decreased significantly in our area for the ist quarter of 2014, while the demand for New Construction has been very good and steady, and the brutal winter with knee-knocking cold in the north has chased a record number of tourists to the Sunshine State in the first three months of the year, so Florida, the Sunshine State, is still where folks want to be!
